Lots of exciting updates! First, I recently got interviewed by the Penn Current, about my work as both a Research Fellow and the Director of the CAMRA Fellows Program.
I was awarded a Window of Opportunity grant from the Leeway Foundation, to travel to Austin and collaborate with the immigrant rights community there.
I also recently finished a short film entitled When Life Gives you Lemons, which was produced in partnership with the Reentry Think Tank. So far, it's screened at the Breaking Down Walls symposium and the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia.
The CAMRA Fellows Program I directed wrapped up, but the students I've worked with have been in distribution mode. Their films will be screening on PhillyCAM in July. Additionally, several of their films have been accepted at local festivals, including the BlackStar Film Festival, PHL Latino Film Festival, and Rough Cut Film Festival.
I have other projects on the horizon, and look forward to continuing to strengthen my arts practice!
